Dear Mr. Adair
I want to express my sincerest thanks for allowing Kay to care for my Uncle Arthur during his illness. The quality of her work was supported by myself, a certified Cancer Information Specialist and Social Worker, and supported individually by the Home Health Care Nurses, and the hospice Nurse in charge of his health care. We were able to assemble a health care team second to none to assure the highest quality of care at home, during a very difficult time for this family. The level of expertise and professionalism that Kay displayed routinely was the most important link to assessing Arthur's condition on a day to day basis. It was she we trusted to make sure Arthur's final days were comfortable and peaceful. In addition to Arthur's care, Kay was called upon to perform duties above and beyond the call of duty. She became the furnace inspector, the refrigerator repair person, the keeper of the grocery list, the care giver of a 16 year old Yorkshire Terrier that was infested with worms, all in addition to communicating with Aunt Dorothy who is hearing impaired. Because I could trust her judgment, my job was made easier.
I trusted that you have learned as much about caring for a disabled, terminally ill patient, as I did about quality home health care as it was intended. Keep up the good work, I think you may have a unique approach to health care in the home.
Sincerely,
Lynn

Dear Greg,
From the first day Bill met Deb until the last tender minutes of Deb’s
Care and his family’s loving Prayers, the caregivers and staff of Affordable
HomeCare provided my husband with as much “TLC” as he possibly could have.
We are truly grateful.
Greg, I know I speak on behalf of my family in expressing praise for
your organization. While Herb (due to his stroke) and Deb (coming in later) cared
for Bill for the shorter periods of time, their work, reliability and gentleness were excellent. And how fortunate we were in having someone like Deb who could step in
as she did in mid-May and move from nighttime to main caregiver. Each of us have told Deb (and you) what a wonderful job she did with Bill. How much common sense and intuition she has and how she always seemed to know what to do to keep Bill as comfortable as possible. That was important to him, and to us. And we know that he appreciated all that was done.
Greg, you, too, were a source of strength and support. Your visits and talks
with Bill and with us, your extra efforts at the end. It was always easy for us to reach you with questions or concerns. AHC is a group of devoted people who obviously love what they do.
Affordable HomeCare has our highest recommendation to anyone needing quality caregiving.
God Bless,
November 23, 1994
Dear Mr. Adair,
This is just to thank you for your presenting the source of Affordable HomeCare to my brother-in-law and me. And a commendation for Tom.
The card which lists “24 Hour Live-In Service, Personal Care and Housekeeping” could not have been more inclusive. I did insist on “cooking” and assisting with my husbands menus.
As for Tom, he was so wonderful to my husband and so efficient with taking care of him that I can give only 2 thumbs up for his service. He stayed with me until I left for Illinois the following morning. He is a fine gentlemen.
Should I be asked for a recommendation, I would give your service one of experience, dedication and trustworthy!
Sincerely,
February 5, 1995
Dear Friends,
I am writing this letter to your firm to express my family’s appreciation to Ms. Connie for her care and devotion as primary caregiver to my mother, Mrs. Betty Anne of Ann Arbor. Connie was truly a friend to my mother and performed her duties in a completely professional manner, giving my mother time and care in a genuine fashion. Decent, loving human beings such as Connie Merrick should be valued for their exceptional gifts at such difficult times. Our family thanks Connie for service above and beyond the order of duty. She was a true friend to our mother.
Sincerely,
David B.

Dear Affordable HomeCare:
Please accept this letter of commendation for the stellar help of you, Affordable HomeCare, and especially your very excellent Patti.
She was magnificent in ministering to my wife in her last days and her few remaining hours. Compassionate, understanding, professional and dedicated is how I comment on Patti. She made your choice of her look good.
I commend you and your company on your thorough attention to detail, to your concern about the comfort and well-being of my wife and your excellent communication with me.
Thanks again,
Cordially,
Dean

Dear Carol: (Affordable HomeCare Personal Assistant)
Just a little note, to let you know how much we appreciated you for taking such good care of Heinz. You did so much more than your duty, you were a good friend to him and took such good care of him, and got him out of the house, (even let him drive his car again).
Thank you for your kind and faithful service to our Dad. We will always remember you well and wish you the best for your future.
Our sincere thanks, our love, and God’s Blessings

Dear Greg Adair:
I would like to personally thank you for your suggestion in placing Sherry as primary caregiver for my father, Mack . She has been his caregiver now since the end of August 1998 and has worked out exceptionally well.
Sherry is a kind and giving caregiver, who goes over and beyond the requirements. My father feels comfortable with her, and he is always clean, well fed and very well taken care of. Sherry takes the time to talk with my father, spend time with him while he does his exercises and even makes him laugh again. She is a wonderful and kind human being and I cannot thank you enough for sending her to us.
I am most grateful to you and your organization for providing this extraordinary lady to take care of my father. I don’t know what we would do without you and Sherry. Thank you so much.
With deep appreciation, I remain,
Sincerely,
Janice H. (daughter of Mark)

Dear Mr. Adair:
When I met Marie, I immediately felt that my husband would be in good hands.
I will never forget how quilt I felt, when I saw Marie step out of the van, all dressed up, as if she had just left church. And didn’t have time to change clothes. She did arrive at 11 a.m., which is early for a Sunday.
We feel it is important for you to know how impressed we were with her happy, openhearted attitude. She immediately became your friend. She has a gift in working with people. My husband was happy with her, loved her cooking and her good nature. She straightened out my house and spoiled my husband.
You truly hired a gem. Hold on to her. You will never, never be sorry. This woman is an inspiring gift of God who comes in to our lives rarely. How she could find the time to accomplish what she did is beyond me. She’s a dynamo.
My son was impressed; a friend who called Dave was impressed. Tell her we’re still smoothies every morning.
Sincerely,
Dave & Stephanie

Dear Greg:
I received your refund check and wish to thank you for it and for providing our family help and care just when we needed it. Getting to the point of needing 24-hour care for my parents was a difficult process. Figuring out the best solution to their care has been extremely challenging physically and emotionally.
The last caregiver, Debra that you provided for my mother established a very good relationship. Debra’s intelligence, good sense, and humor made her service enjoyable and invaluable. She was a real find!
I apologize for the clumsy way that we left your agency. I didn’t keep everyone apprized, as I should have, as we pondered the dilemma of moving my parents into a situation together and then preceded with the traumatic transition of taking them out of their longtime home and into assisted living. My father’s growing ill temper necessitated doing something quickly.
My parents are slowly adjusting to their wonderful new home.
Thank you again for your help and understanding.
Sincerely,
Kathy

Dear Gregory,
Thank you for responding promptly to my need for a full-time caregiver for my mother, Wanda Gentil. Your company provides a valuable service to the community and I am grateful that you were there when my brother and I needed a caregiver for our mother. We have been completely satisfied with the caregivers that you have provided. Sue Weaver seems to have bonded well with our mother and seems quite professional and fully satisfactory in all respects. She has provided us with much greater peace of mind the last two weeks.
However, as we review my mother’s available resources and her condition, we have been concerned about how long that we would be able to provide this level of care. In the course of reviewing this situation, her younger sister has agreed to assume the role of full-time professional caregiver for an economic arrangement that would assure us the ability to significantly extend our mother’s care.
Thus, I would like to suspend our arrangement with your company for a caregiver for my mother, Wanda, effective the end of March. Since we are paid in full through the end of the month, I am assuming that all financial obligations are settled unless I hear otherwise. If possible, I would like to request that you leave my mother’s file open so that we could use your service in the future, if needed, in the event that this arrangement with my Aunt does work out.
Additionally, we would be interested in having your company provide occasional relief service when my Aunt requests a couple of weeks vacation. I’m assuming that your company can provide that type of short-term care.
Again, it was a pleasure working with your company and I will certainly recommend Affordable Home Care to others in my situation that are looking for alternatives to nursing home care for elderly parents.
Sincerely,
Althea

Dear Greg,
Just a short note to let you know that we really appreciated Affordable HomeCare for the two years that we used your services for my mother, Patricia.
Denise is a real asset to your company, she has been our primary care person, or should I say angel from above, because I surely believe that she is a very special person. She would always bring a smile to my mother as well as anyone else that might be there. She would always include my mother in decisions regarding choosing various colors for some of her projects that she was working on. One time it was Denise making a snowman after she had put Mom to bed, She did this so that she could see it. As usual this would put a smile on Mom’s face. I had to laugh once when Denise told me how she did this, there was Denise pushing the snowball up the ramp one by one, finally completing one of her many projects just to keep Mom alert & amused.
I just wish that there were more Denise’s in the world; maybe we could clone her, eh?
We have always liked the way that your company (Affordable HomeCare Service) always addressed our various concerns, unlike the other company that we had for a brief time before we contracted with you. We have recommended your company to some of our friends should they need home care for their love ones.
Wishing Affordable HomeCare Success for many years to come.
Sincerely the family of
Patricia

To whom it may concern:
This letter is in reference to Mary Stansell. Mary came to us through Affordable HomeCare as a caregiver for Gordon Sr.. She began on January 03, 2003 and ended on February 14, 2003.
Due to a remarkable recovery by the patient, Gordon Sr., Mary’s and Affordable HomeCare services are no longer required.
For the purpose of reference we personally want to recommend Mary for an opportunity to provide the same quality care for you or others as she has for our family.
In addition to physically assisting Gordon Sr., whenever and however necessary, her duties included serving as an assistant to the physical and occupational therapist with monitoring prescribed exercises and reminding patient as to time for medications. Mary was also responsible for planning meals and cooking. Mary is an experienced cook with many wonderful and healthy meal selections. She is reliable, trustworthy and well liked by our entire family. Her cheerful, positive attitude and outgoing personality will be missed by all of us.
Please feel free to call us should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Gordon Sr.,
Gordon Jr.,

To whom it may concern:
With the holiday season upon us, its time to reflect on those who do so much for others.
Thank you for sending Mary and Anita into Mom’s life. They both deserve to be remembered and applauded.
Anita is “so kind”, caring, gentle and compassionate one can detect this in her. She truly cares about Mom. In my experience with caregivers, this is a rarity. To most it’s just a job. Anita is a very dedicated person. I know my Mom is safe with her. Mary goes above and beyond her qualifications. She’s a master of all trades. She takes care of Mom, cleans, cooks, washes and offers an extra helping hand when needed. She’s alert and always on top of things. A visiting nurse has told me from another agency, that in her experience, Mom has two of the best caregivers she has ever seen. They need to be remembered.
Sincerely,
Connie

Dear Mr. Adair:
We are writing on behalf of the Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B) to express thanks to you for the manner in which you and your agency demonstrated understanding toward our client and caregiver, Mary an Charles “Chuck”.
Affordable Home Care was able to quickly and effectively provide for staffing despite the fact that the Bromirskis live in an area that is difficult to serve. Additionally, the turn-around time in which Affordable Home Care identified an aide to provide the needed 24-hour care was exemplary.
It is our understanding that the care Mrs. Bromirski received while her son was on vacation was excellent. The caregiver had no complaints regarding care. Unfortunately, Chuck had various complaints regarding more routine issues such as food and housekeeping; also, that the sump pump was broken upon his return. Again, I would like to extend our sincerest thank you for replacing the sump pump. We feel that this goes above and beyond the call of duty, n we are very grateful that you took it upon yourself to replace this piece of equipment.
The AAA 1-B truly considers you a partner in serving the elderly and disabled in our region. Your actions speak louder than words that Affordable Home Care feels the same.
Sincerely,
Tina Abbate Marzolf

Dear Affordable HomeCare,
Duillia and her family would like to thank and give Tina highest praise as Duillia's caregiver. Tina took good care of all the personal needs of Duillia's in a professional and prompt manner. She kept the house very clean and the laundry was always done. Moreover, Tina went above and beyond her personal care duties to make sure the needs of Duillia were always met. Tina's willingness to do this far exceeded our expectations.
Going forward, if circumstances are such that Duillia should need home care services once again, we would not hesitate to call upon Affordable HomeCare.
The family of Duillia would like to thank Affordable HomeCare for their help toward her ongoing journey to live independently.
Sincerely,
Adriana Fox for the
family of Duillia

Dear Mr. Adair:
It is with pleasure that I inform you of the selection of Affordable HomeCare as the recipient of this year’s Area Agency on Aging 1-B (AAA 1-B) Service Provider Leadership Award. The award is to honor Affordable HomeCare for its commitment to the AAA 1-B’s mission of preserving the independence, dignity, and quality of life of
older adults, family caregivers, and adults with disabilities in southeast Michigan.
Affordable HomeCare has participated in the AAA 1-B vendor pool since September, 1994. Since that time, you and your organization have consistently shown dedication to providing the highest quality service to older adults and persons with disabilities in the AAA 1-B Community Care Services programs. As the president of an organization dedicated to helping vulnerable older adults remain as independent as possible, you questioned whether the aging services network, and in particular the homecare industry, was adequately prepared for the impact a flu pandemic would have on this population. In April, 2006, you proposed working with the AAA 1-B and other interested stakeholders as the lead agency in developing, sponsoring, and hosting a Pandemic Preparedness & Response Conference. The planning team, consisting of representatives from the Macomb County Dept. of Senior Citizen Services, the Macomb County Dept. of Community Health, the Oakland County Health Division, The Senior Alliance, and the AAA 1-B, was able to secure the services of national, state, and local experts on flu pandemic preparedness to speak at the conference, held on January 24, 2007. Over 200 individuals from across southeast Michigan attended the event and based on their
feedback, the conference was a resounding success. It is for your dedication, vision, and leadership that we take great pride in honoring you and your company. Affordable HomeCare, as the recipient of the AAA 1-B Service Provider Leadership Award. Presentation of the award will take place at our annual Community Meeting on May 3, 2007, at Glen Oaks Country Club, in Farmington Hills. As an award recipient, you may invite up to three gests. We would welcome your making brief remarks (2-3 minutes) after accepting the award. Within one week, you will receive a formal invitation containing directions to the facility and other relevant information. Please feel free to contact Deanna Mitchell, Director of Support Services, at 248-262-9201, if you have any questions in the meantime.
Again, congratulations on Affordable Homecare’s well-deserved selection as the recipient of our Service Provider Leadership Award!
Sincerely,
Tina Abbate Marzolf

To The Staff of Affordable Home Care:
I am writing this letter to bring to your attention the wonderful and attentative care supplied by Mary to my mother, Shirley.
Mary is a kind and compassionate caregiver. She willingly takes care of my mother’s every need without complaint. She anticipates her needs, and responds quickly to minimize any discomfort my mom might feel. My mother recently had serious surgery on her arm, which required more effort on the part of Mary. Mary has responded with even more attention, comfort, and support. Mary has tried to make my mom as comfortable as possible and lessen her pain as much as humanly possible. She is always there to fluff a pillow, cover her with a warm blanket and give her words of encouragement. She is very attentative to my mom’s personal hygiene needs, which increased due to her recent arm surgery.
Mary keeps detailed records of my mom’s needs, making sure that any changes in behavior or signs of stress are brought to my attention immediately. She reminds me when her pill container needs to be replenished in case I forget and is very diligent in administering the medicine that my mom needs. She prepares meals that my mom enjoys, and as a housekeeper-she is tops.
We have had a number of caregivers from your company over the past several years. They have attended to my dad, James, until he passed away in August of this year and continued with my mother Shirley. Some have been better than others in responding to their needs. To some it is a minimally required effort to help the sick and frail. To Mary it is a need quickly and without complaint, no matter how much or little care is needed. She does things for her that only a truly compassionate caregiver would notice.
As a retired police officer, I know many good deeds go unrecognized and are considered recognition that your company offers to honor its employees. She deserves it!
Sincerely,
James R. Jr.
