MD.2 - an advanced tool to help you manage medication schedules

Medication schedules can be complicated and difficult for people to manage on their own. The MD.2 Personal Medication System is an easy to use, reliable medication delivery system that simplifies medication organization and delivery, reminds individuals to take their medications on schedule, and monitors compliance.

The MD.2 is ideal for people with medication compliance issues such as forgetfulness, taking too much of or the wrong medications, or taking medications on the wrong day. It is also appropriate for individuals suffering from mild to moderate dementia (Alzheimer's or psychiatric conditions) and physical dexterity issues.

The MD.2's intelligent, one-button design, multiple reminders (audible spoken words and tones, visual flashing light and text messages), and easy to open dispensing cups make it easy for any individual capable of self-medicating to operate the unit.

Health Watch is pleased to offer the remarkable MD.2 Personal Medication System as part of the safety net people need to continue living safely and independently at home.

How MD.2 works

  1. Medication Cups are comfortable to hold and have secure lids to prevent spills. Each reusable cup can hold 20 - 25 pills and supplements. As many as six cups/doses can be delivered per day.
  2. Dispensing Button is designed for seniors' special needs. Easy to see and feel, it is conveniently oversized and requires only a gentle push for one button dispensing.
  3. Medications Reminders announce each dose in a clear, loud voice and tone (volume is adjustable), plus a text message and a flashing red light. Special instructions such as "take with food" can also be programmed.
  4. Locking Storage Compartment allows MD.2 to be pre-loaded with a maximum of 60 medication cups. The locking compartment keeps medications safe and in order.
  5. Keypad is designed for easy set-up and is located in the locked medication compartment to prevent accidental changes or tampering.
  6. Battery Back-up System provides alternate power for up to 18 hours.

Monitoring & Support

One of the most important features of the MD.2 is its built-in monitoring capability. The MD.2 unit is directly connected via a phone line to the Support Center. If medications are not dispensed after multiple reminders, caregivers are automatically called. Dispensing activity can also be viewed on-line via a secure web site.

Staffed by trained personnel, the Support Center is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to answer questions and provide technical help.

Safety & Alerts

The MD.2 provides multiple reminders and alerts to signal medication times including voice and text messages and a visual light. The MD.2 also features a locked cabinet, so medications cannot be accessed incorrectly.
