Hospice In-Home Care Services

What is Hospice In-Home Care?

Hospice in-home care services are specialized care services for individuals who are terminally ill. Hospice care is typically recommended for a terminally ill person who’s expected to have six months or less to live. However, this doesn’t mean that hospice care will be provided only for six months. It can be provided as long as the person’s doctor and hospice care team certify that the condition remains life-limiting. Hospice care has been shown to help people who have incurable illnesses feel better and live longer.

There's 2 Common Forms Of Home Hospice Care

The one most people are familiar with is delivered through a dedicated hospice organization such as Hospice of Michigan or Compassus Hospice. We often recommend families work with one of these organizations, as they can provide many services we cannot. Services such as; spiritual counseling, pain management, case management, after care and limited personal care. However, these organizations are funded directly through Medicare and therefore can only offer home services for limited periods of time. This usually doesn’t address the high level of personal care needed by many hospice individuals.

The second and lesser known form of home hospice care is delivered through a non-medical home care company like Affordable HomeCare. Utilizing Hourly orStay-In Home Care to provide the hands on personal care pairs perfectly with services delivered through a hospice organization. This is because we can customize our services around your needs to fill the gaps when your hospice organization cannot be there. Affordable HomeCare empowers our Clients to carry on an alert and pain free life and promotes dignity to maximize the quality of life. We help focus on LIVING rather than dying, all while remaining in the peaceful setting of home.
